Case & Task

Case & Task

Design of a new interface system for DHL’s next-generation parcel station terminals, driven by upcoming European Accessibility Act (EAA) requirements.

Scope included developing a new visual system and token structure, redesigning all screen components, and optimizing key user flows — send, pick-up, shopping, and payment — to create a clear, consistent, and scalable user experience.

Accessibility

Accessibility

The interface was designed to be usable for a broad range of BFSG-related user groups, including wheelchair users, visually impaired and blind individuals, older adults, and users with cognitive or technical limitations.

Navigation was placed in the lower screen area for better reachability. The UI uses bold, simple layouts, high contrast, scalable elements, and clear hierarchy. Interaction patterns support screen readers and predictable flows, reducing cognitive load and improving overall accessibility.
