Case

Case

Case

Public transport maps across major German cities differ widely in design, structure, and layout, with no prior effort to standardize them visually or technically.

This lack of consistency created challenges for integration into digital products, requiring a system that could handle diverse map styles while supporting a coherent user experience.

Task

Task

Task

Development of a unified concept for integrating city-specific transport maps into Deutsche Bahn’s existing design system.

The approach aligned varied visual languages, functional differences, and technical constraints, enabling consistent presentation and scalable system integration without losing the individuality of each network.
